COVID-19 PANDEMIC UPDATE: 2021 FESTIVAL CANCELLED & REPLACED WITH DRIVE THROUGH BAKE SALE AGAIN

Dear Friends of Saint George Church, After careful consideration and with a heavy heart, we have decided to, once again, cancel the Annual Saint George Middle Eastern Festival which was scheduled to take place July 16-18, 2021. We have taken this decision in light of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. Your safety remains our top priority at this time and we hope and pray that you and your families remain in good health. For now, we hope you visit us at the DRIVE THROUGH BAKE SALE JULY 17, 2021 and take home some of our wonderful food! www.mideastfest.com/shop/

We hope to resume the Festival in 2022. Please refer to www.MidEastFest.com for updates.

Theotokos Riverview Icon

The icon, “Theotokos Riverview,” was commissioned for St. George Antiochian by the faithful of St. Elizabeth OCA. The icon, written by Olga Ivkin, depicts an eschatological view of the City of St. Paul and the Mississippi River from the historic West Side/Riverview neighborhood. The following communities are included in the icon’s cityscape: St. George, West St. Paul,
St. Elizabeth, West Side, Holy Trinity, East Side, St. George, Summit. You can also see the St. Paul Cathedral in the icon, nestled among the skyscrapers. The icon presents Mary enthroned, holding Jesus coming in power—flanked by St. Elizabeth and St. George.  Fr. Marc expressed his hope that the icon be a sign of our shared Orthodox ministry in St. Paul’s city. Our most sincere thanks and gratitude to Fr. Marc Boulos and the St. Elizabeth community for this wonderful gift!
